Changing habits

The Body for Life challenge officially begins on February 11, 2009. However, I want to get myself started before hand. I feel that the program will be easier if I start with small habit changes first.

Before I even decided to do this, I made up my mind that some habits have to change. The first one was to stop eating late at night. No food past 7pm. I've done well so far. It's been about two weeks and I've only eaten past 7 a couple of times and it wasn't much. I usually sat down in front of the TV with my husband, Ryan and ate junk food..and lots of it. The program does allow for a snack at 10pm but I'm leary of that and don't plan on doing that until the start date. Until then if I'm starving I will eat fresh fruits and veggies..but only if I'm really hungry.

I have also given up sodas. Today was my second day without a drop. Coke has been a serious addiction of mine since last September when I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter. I absolutely LOVE Coke. However, carbonated drinks are HORRIBLE for so many reasons and they HAVE to go.

My next habit change will be ALL refined sugar. This might be harder than the Coke but I just read that sugar turns right into fat..so does soda. Both are OUT.

There is a cheat day allowed in this program. However, I'm not sure that I will take it because cheat days tend to send me into a junk food frenzy that spill over into the next day..then the next..then before long all is lost. Maybe one I start the program I will have things under control enough to where I can cheat a little..we will see.
